REVIEW: Aeba - Rebellion - Edens Asch Last Episode Productions, 2001
2.5/10
Aeba - Rebellion - Edens Asch - cover art As my cat just shit in my shower, everything smells like shit, and the scent of Aeba's 3rd longplayer doesn't make me feel any different. Worse than this bands 2 first albums I think it's hard to accomplish, even for a German black metal demoband. I was positively surprised by "Rebellion-Edens Asche" though, as it actually has a much more bombastic and powerful sound to it than before, and they have incorporated more various leading guitars and synths, making it sound alot more professional and massive. I am not sure if I understand their change though, as before it was raw and aggressive, and although they still get to be categorized as a raw and aggressive bm band, most people would spit on you if you had changed this way, or even thinking of placing in synths and melodic parts. It is just the way people who like the raw black metal thinks... I think it shows that the band doesn't really care though, which is fine by me, as it has made their music better, although still so one dimensional and utterly flat, that I can not get past slaughtering the work, that even lasts for 66 minutes...
