REVIEW: Aeon - Dark Order Deathvomit Records, 2001
6.5/10
Aeon - Dark Order - cover art Swedish metal is most renowned for the strong melodic content whether it's death metal á la At The Gates or power metal á la Hammerfall but there are luckily other bands waiting for a chance to show the world what they are capable of achieving. Aeon is one of these and features members of Diabolicum and Defaced Creation. If you know anything about Deathvomit Records (a sublabel of Necropolis) you would already know that we are talking about the most brutal music available on this Earth. If you think In Flames and Dark Tranquillity are too soft and prefer the brutality of Deicide in a modern speedier version then Aeon is a new band that you would probably come to appreciate. They are heavy, blasphemous and deadly as sin and the vocals are some of the most violent and aggressive ones in the death metal scene of today. If you feel mentally healthy and have a thirst for primal death metal with a Swedish twist then check out this new MCD from Aeon. They might not have the finesse and technicality of Morbid Angel but they are twice as brutal which I know some of you enjoy.
