Agents Of Man was assembled in early 2000 by veterans from the New Jersey hardcore scene. Their creative mixture of melancholic melodies, groovy metal riffs and aggressive hardcore made a huge impression on Century Media who have now picked up the band for the release of "Count Your Blessings". This is a mature and well crafted album that combines many different elements into music which defies easy categorization but still falls under the banner of metalcore in my book. Clean melancholic vocals are coupled with dark aggressive hardcore screams and calmer passages walk hand in hand with massive guitar walls, catchy hooks and turns and groovy breakdowns. If you believe that this is just another boring metalcore release that sounds pretty much like everything else listening to the album will prove you wrong. Where others follow standard patterns, Agents Of Man walk their own path, making use of highly creative song writing. If the genre as a whole is becoming crowded there are a few new acts who stand out from the pack and this young New Jersey newcomer will surely impress many moshers. They are no pioneers but they work hard and are serious about their art, that's one thing you can tell for sure. Good and solid metalcore.
