Anger Of The Lamb is a
one-man project of Brian James Smell from New Jersey, USA that probably falls
under the label of industrial but it is not that far from metal at times. The
music is a mixture of Marilyn Manson´s "Mechanical Animals" album and old
Nine Inch Nails although there is not as much noise as on an average NIN
album. Instead there is more rhythm and subtle melodies hidden in the hypnotic
sound. The vocals are very close to Marilyn Manson, sometimes perhaps a little
too close. In the movie "Basic Instinct" there is an erotic dancing scene at
a disco out of the ordinary. The music on this disc is sometimes very similar
to that song playing then. Techno-industrial metal might be a term suited for
this sound. The faster and more aggressive songs on this album are very
appealing (especially Plank) but unfortunately the slower ones are a little
too chaotic and experimental for my taste. However, this is definitely an
interesting album that features a man who is not afraid of exploring new
musical areas and the result is far from bad. Even metal fans could enjoy this
album for sure (if you are not allergic to electronic music that is). Even
though you can clearly hear the influence from NIN and Marilyn Manson, Anger
Of The Lamb has a personal touch and a sound of it´s own. The album was
recorded and produced by Brian James Snell himself and he also took care of
the graphics and design. It was mastered at Coastal Mastering Studios in
