There are several words that I would use to describe this work by Antigama, they include (but are not limited to) creative, loud, technical, extreme, and short. Yes I said short, clocking in at 24 minutes long with about 10 minutes worth of filler track (I don’t know what else to call the odd noises on tracks 4 and 9 but none of it sounds like music to me) that leaves about 14 minutes worth of music. However this is when I get to the good part, these 14 minutes of music include some of the most outrageous experimental Grind music I have ever heard. The production is stellar and the music itself is quite frankly insane and brutal as hell, the drummer knows his way around the kit and the guitarist and bassist each hold their own. I do have a slight issue with the vocals, there are times where the shouting/screaming/shrieking/and growling subsides and gives way to what can only be described as a Rob Zombie style moan. This being my only real complaint with the musical aspect of the band I must say that while this album is incredibly short it shows tremendous potential. I can only imagine what kind of aural destruction they would create with a longer CD, I look forward to future releases of this band but you really have to judge if you are willing to shell out the price of a CD for 14 minutes of music? If you are a fan of Grind in all it’s forms then I would say this is a pretty safe bet, if you are looking to experiment with this CD I would say look for a better candidate (or at least a more lengthy candidate).
