REVIEW: Atomic Ants - Keep Cool And Dry Casket Music, 2006
6/10
Atomic Ants - Keep Cool And Dry - cover art Atomic Ants is an Italian band that blends Funk with Nu-Metal and the result is definitely catchy and humorous. It is obvious to anyone listening to Atomic Ants that they have a lot of fun when they’re playing together. In January 2006 the band's debut album “Keep Cool And Dry” were released through Casket Music. Atomic Ants are not bad musicians and the production is good so this has every possibility to be a very enjoyable record. That is if you are able to overlook that the resemblance to Red Hot Chilli Peppers sometimes tends to be extensive. There are some other influences as well, now and then shines a little metal trough all the funk, but it is hard to find anything original about these Italians. Still, this is a humorous, catchy and well made album and absolutely not bad, but perhaps uninteresting. If all you want is some funky groove and the innovation and originality aren’t that important, then you probably should give this album a try.
