Electronic Death metal with industrial rhythms, Atrophia Red Sun is a different entity. Industrial is what I’d use to describe ARS, but there’s so much more going on that you need to also include: Thrash, Death, Rock, Progressive, New Wave, Nu-metal, Electronics, Strange, Weird, Different, as words to describe their overall sound. “Abstract” has an awesome start to the song. The drums roll through, climbing in power and strength, but by the middle/end of the track the keyboard/synth basically takes over, and I loose interest.
“Inspiration” reminds me of Korn, in the vocals at the start and end. But that quickly fades as you are brought through strange worlds, that I am totally unfamiliar with. Makes me start to wonder what’s in Poland’s water, because these guys have constructed one hell of a different sound. For the most part it’s original and inspiring that there’s a band out there playing such fucked noises. With the samples and synth/keyboard, I get irritated by this band, but without them, they aren’t as potent of a band. To each their own I guess. “Nameless Rot” hits a peak in the middle, with a melody out of this world. It caught my attention, and I realize that the electronics used can sound amazing, and I want to hear more of that, but then the manipulated spacey sounds fall back in, and I don’t enjoy that near as much. The guitars are constantly heavy and crushing, the drums pummel the beats out, and the singer is wicked in his guttural screams. At times I really get into the soundscape of noise, but the computer/space noises/beats ruin it for me.
