REVIEW: Beatsteaks - Living Targets Epitaph Records, 2002
3/10
Beatsteaks - Living Targets - cover art Beatsteaks is a German band who play raw punk rock. They seem pretty much inspired by Bad Religion but they are still lacking a lot and especially the vocals sound really bad. To be honest with you this is one of the worst releases I've heard in a long while with the exception of a few noise releases that I don't even dare call music. Don't get me wrong here, these guys are not lousy musicians, it's just that this type of music doesn't appeal to me at all. How can one come up with the idea of singing "nah, nah, nah, nah" several times in a row with one of the worst singing voices ever (I know, this is what radio hits is all about but they do at least have the voice for it). If you think you are in any way like me stay away from this release, otherwise feel free to roll around in the mud together with Beatsteaks. I would rather listen to Britney Spears or Ricky Martin instead of this...
