This is a re-issue of Beecher’s debut full length album which originally came out in 2003 and was released through ‘Calculated Risk Products’. On this version through Earache Records you will find six bonus tracks added also including the BBC Radio Sessions. Beecher from Manchester, UK have managed to express themselves through some really twisted and modern hardcore songs. Although I have become more skeptic about the mainstream of emo- and metalcore bands lately these guys are definitely an exception. The music on ‘Breaking The Fourth Wall’ is extremely complex and daring but also exceptionally good. It wouldn’t surprise me though if numerous people should give up after only listening half way through this record. I know I had some small difficulties myself but my interest in ‘weird’ stuff and fine ‘emo’ or ‘screamo’ (whatever they call it) sounds did the trick. Still if you are interested in experiencing a musical roller-coaster ride with tons of melodic and rhythmic transformations then beware! If you are a fan of the following bands you should take note because this is another must have for your collection: Converge, Isis, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Cave In (earlier period), Hot Water Music, Snapcase and Thursday to just name a few. I am sure there are plenty of other influences but this is nevertheless already an impressive list. The word intense is a proper way of describing the tunes of Beecher! Watch out for this band with also keeping an eye on the release of their second upcoming album later this year.
