REVIEW: Belphegor - Necrodaemon Terrorsathan Last Episode Productions, 2000
6.5/10
Belphegor - Necrodaemon Terrorsathan - cover art An album that starts off with chiming church bells will always be sure to have my full attention. Starting the second track with a Gregorian chant doesn´t make things worse. Well, having said that you might want to know what the real music sounds like. You will not find a masterpiece like Tristania here because this is music that is completely different. A brutal mix of death and black metal is what can be found on a Belphegor release and this is no exception. This is the third effort from this Austrian band and it is a pretty good. I´m not going to go overboard by exaggerate things here because this album is simply good, nothing less, nothing more. Satanic, furious and blasphemous will be some of the words you would use do desribe what you have heard on this album as soon as it has found it´s way to your stereo. Belphegor definitely has my blessing for coming up with some interesting song titles, creative band be. The vocalist has also found a way of sounding like a weird mix between Dani from Cradle Of Filth and a goat, in whatever way that is done. This album has got material to raise ONE eyebrow but it will not be sticking to your mind for all eternity. Suitable only for ears of extreme death/black metal fans lest you want to take the risk of falling apart.
