Well, when I started to listen to this I realized that if some release is strange then it must be slow. If it’s fast then there’s very rarely anything strange with it. It not only applies to BL, but it made me think about it actually. I don’t remember reviewing more weird and hard to get into the release. I stated it as Black only 'cause I had no clue how to label it and it may have some similarities with Black. This pretty much escapes labeling. Basically, the band doesn’t use standard melodies we’re used to, or standard rhythms. Everything is somehow broken apart and glued back strangely. Music starts to gain tempo and suddenly it disappears as water in sand to be replaced by some different slow riff. There are two guitars playing mostly different riffs that match in a distorted way. Sometimes I get confused which one is the lead melody and which one is in the back. Then, vocals are also unordinary, no screaming or something, just some quiet barking-like. And all seems filled with some echoing, that’s present throughout the whole album. The production is suitable for the music the band is playing, I can’t say anything else. Following all this are the lyrics, I tried to read them, but was unsure of which language being used. Half is in standard English and the rest is either in archaic English or in Latin, I can’t say. There are a lot of magickal phrases and names, just as a sign of what the band is into. And in the end, I have no idea how to mark this CD, since I am uncertain if I understood it, even after dozens of listening attempts.
