The Berzerker is just one of those bands who carry a name that basically tells you what to expect. Expect something "berzerk", for this is "THE Berzerker". But just how "berzerk" is this band you ask?
Well, since their self titled release in 2000, The Berzerker has grown and become a little more insane. Proof of this is right there on the first track, "Eye For An Eye", which is possibly the craziest, and the fastest, song ever written by the band. At times this song seems almost inhuman! Oh wait...there's a drum machine involved, hence why it's so damned fast!
And the pace just simply doesn't let up. While some of the songs are somewhat slower then the title track, songs like "Purgatory", "False Hope" and the insanely catchy track, "The Cancer" make you want to find something and beat the living hell out of it. The speed of the music is insane, it's brutal, and it's amazing the guitarists can keep up! Plus it also helps that the vocals range from gutteral to rhaspy, black metal-esque vocals.
While it may take some time to warm up to the way the drums are done, let's just face it, Animosity is by far the best record released by this band, and one of the best CDs released in 2007. There's pretty much only two words you can possibly use to describe it, and those are "kick" and "ass". Guaranteed to give you road rage and a lead foot in your car, this album is literally what the titles describe, and you can't ask for anything better.
