REVIEW: Black Web - Black Web Music Online Records, 2001
8/10
Black Web - Black Web - cover art The members of the Swedish band Black Web have been playing their instruments for a long time but this is the band's first full-length album since they started out in 1992. Being released on a small Stockholm based label called Music Online Records this album will probably go by most people unnoticed which is a real shame because these Swedes have made three quarters of an hour of very good music. Their music could be described as mid-tempo thrash metal meets straight-forward rock 'n' roll. The vocalist adds to the rock 'n' roll feeling with his very strong Lemmy Kilmister voice. Their sound lies right inbetween metal and hard rock but this is still a very heavy album. Without a doubt this is one of the best newcomer bands at the moment and I think they should be looking for a major label deal as soon as possible. The first tracks are amazing and the especially the chorus of "Black Web" is mighty powerful. Whether you like hard rock or metal this is a new band worth checking out right away. If you enjoy good music as much as I do you should not be disappointed. The only thing I think they should keep in mind in the future is to maintain the aggressive edge and try to make the music follow the vocals a little better. Another advice is to make some real promo sheets and write a proper band biography. Other than that this album totally rocks!
