REVIEW: Bloodshed - Inhabitants Of Dis Code666, 2002
7/10
Bloodshed - Inhabitants Of Dis - cover art The Swedish band Bloodshed released their debut mini album "Skullcrusher" last year and now it's time for the full-length entitled "Inhabitants Of Dis". We are served a very intense mix of black and death metal that is different from what most other bands perform today. Bloodshed have accomplished mission impossible and found themselves a sound of their own which requires very hard work when the competition is as immense as it is today. This album contains some very epic and majestic extreme metal with major influences from bands like Necrophobic, newer Marduk and older Entombed with a touch of older Opeth riffing. The result is very good and so is the production courtesy of Tomas Skogsberg Sunlight Studios. I have been rather critical about this studio in the past but this time the sound fits almost perfectly with the music of Bloodshed. "Inhabitants Of Dis" offers eleven tracks filled with some very intense yet melodic music and if you liked the latest album from Necrophobic then this is a band you will certainly enjoy as well. They haven't quite reached the same level of perfection but they are well on their way.
