Even though Relapse Records tends to sign bands from quite a narrow musical spectrum they manage to find some of the most unique quality acts there are within this field. Sweden's Burst is definitely to be included in this exclusive group. "Origo", their fourth full-length album, is an extremely diverse album where progressive post-rock exists side by side with melancholic hardcore á la Cult Of Luna and aggressive thrash outbursts. At times I can't help but comparing them with Opeth and Isis, two bands with whom they also share significant similarities but they do not let any boundaries whatsoever stop their creative spirit. There are technical and impressive pieces within the songs but it's not an album that needs your full attention for every single second of the race. Today, when there are thousands of bands all over the world trying to be the best, it is very difficult to make your voice heard but Burst scream louder than most bands and "Origo" is an album you should collect right away if you enjoy good music, period.
