Those who have erased the name Cannibal Corpse from their minds should first of all have their heads examined and, as the next action in line, they should listen to "Kill", the illustrious band's tenth full-length album to this date. CC has always held their heads high, not losing track of where they have been or where they are going and have maintained a very professional attitude from day one which is no doubt the reason why they are still the best selling death metal band ever. Fast approaching the twenty year mark they are an institution in the field of extreme metal and it is nothing but an honor for me to review their latest offer to death metal heads all over the world. "Kill" opens up with a refreshing roar. How can that be refreshing when dealing with death metal you probably ask? It is so because a great deal of the extreme metal albums released today are introduced to us by a more or less annoying and, in most cases, completely unneccessary intro. This way of throwing the listener straight into the mosh pit I appreciate. It is brutal, intense, bone-breaking death metal of the highest possible quality right from the start. Furious riffs and solos are accompanied by rumbling bass and drums as well as the unmistakable vocals from Mr. Corpse Grinder himself. "Kill" is the word. This will surely count as one of the finest death metal releases of 2006.
