REVIEW: Carnal Forge - Please...Die Century Media, 2001
7.5/10
Carnal Forge - Please...Die - cover art The Swedish band Carnal Forge is one of very few extreme metal bands on the Century Media label. Their music is in the same style as fellow countrymen and award winners The Haunted but with a little more of raw death and grind than At The Gates melodies. This album is full of furious and aggressive death metal with an easily noticed Swedish touch. I would have preferred a little more of melody but aggression works well too. If you are looking for a pure energy rush this is the album for you. Most bands who play this kind of music don't manage to make it varied enough to be enjoyable all the way through but this is luckily not the case with Carnal Forge who origins from the part of Sweden where the steel industry began its rise. The vocals are strong, the music is dynamic and full of power, the production is almost perfect, what more could you ask for? If you are into death metal or grind then this is an album you should check out. It might not be the absolute best out there but it is still a nice solid release. It doesn't get much faster than this, that's one thing for sure.
