REVIEW: Casey Jones - The Messenger Alveran Records, 2006
8/10
Casey Jones - The Messenger - cover art Hailing from Jacksonville, FL, Casey Jones formed in early 2003 as a side project by current and ex-members of Evergreen Terrace. The band released their first album "The Few, The Proud, The Crucial" in 2004 and now they are back with the new release “The Messenger”. The album is filled with Straight Edge Hardcore and the band prides themselves on being a band that has no problem letting the rest of the world to know how they have chosen to live their lives. But even for those who are not supporters of the Straight Edge lifestyle there are reasons to pick up “The Messenger”. Josh James' vocals are great and although it is nothing new or innovating about Casey Jones, their energy and intensity makes it feel interesting. I hope that I will have the opportunity to attend a live show with these boys, I can imagine that this material will do well on stage. “The Messenger” is an album that will make a great addition in the record collection of any die-hard hardcore fan.
