REVIEW: Casualties, the - Under Attack Side One Dummy Records, 2006
7/10
Casualties, the - Under Attack - cover art That The Casualties are inspired by punk in general and Exploited in particular is no secret to anyone that ever encountered the bands earlier releases. The latest album “Under Attack” is no exception from this concept. Although the music has evolved some since the previous “On the Front Line” (2004) there is no fans that need to be disappointed. It is still straight forward street punk, a typical Casualties album only slightly more varied with melodies and sing-along parts given more importance than earlier. The lyrics cover subjects as illegitimate wars and environmental problems. Despite these serious subjects I get a warm feeling in the stomach from this band, there are so many bands out there that claim to be punk but play pop-music but The Casualties are not one of them. And you have got to give them some applause just for being active and holding their heads high for so long. If you are a true punk fan, this album should already be in your collection.
