REVIEW: Cathedral - Caravan Beyond Redemption Earache Records, 1998
6.5/10
Cathedral - Caravan Beyond Redemption - cover art This is classic heavy metal from Cathedral. Unfortunately the album is rather flat, only a few bright spots sticking out, like the first track. Other than that it's the same heavy beats throughout the whole album with the in my opinion not too good vocals - sounding like a mix between Motorhead and Megadeth. The lyrics are however rather good on some of the tracks, telling the real truth about the world we live in, which is needed since there are a lot of people who don't seem to be able to see behind the phasade of lies coming from many places. This is an album that bores me rather quickly but perhaps it will appeal to younger people who like classic metal of the old school - Manowar, Black Sabbath etc. If you're looking for something unique and new this is not an album to buy. It's not really bad music, it's just that it sounds old after a couple of songs.
