REVIEW: Cerebral Effusion - Violence In Motion Unmatched Brutality Records, 2003
6.5/10
Cerebral Effusion - Violence In Motion - cover art Another death / grind band unleashing monstrous riffs over blast beats and deep guttural growls. The vocals remind me of Dying Fetus, except deeper. Like so many other death metal releases, "Violence in Motion" adds nothing new to a scene that has masses of albums which sound exactly the same. Although; you can lump "Violence in Motion" along with the other decent death metal releases. Cerebral Effusion (C.E.) blast out technical finger splitting grind influenced death metal. At times, C.E. delivers some promising song structures that will defiantly get people throwing limbs in the pit, and the double vocal attack is always good to hear. One problem I have is when the vocals sound like a squealing pig, rather than a human's screams. The drummer keeps this whole album rocking, massacring his kit while rumbling the ground beneath. At the mid point of this album is when C.E. really start to let it fly. "Unnatural Disturbed Flesh", "Homicide and Justified Medicine" and "Violence in Motion" represent Cerebral Effusion's anger and technicality best.
