More bombastic than ever before the best death metal in the
world is back again with their third full-length album. Finland has produced a
number of high quality metal bands over the years - Children OF Bodom,
Nightwish, Amorphis, Stratovarius, ...And Oceans to mention a few leading
ones. Nighwish actually has a sound very similar to Children Of Bodom with
beautiful melodies, bombastic and technical metal. Keyboards are used as a way
to enhance the guitars and drums rather than serving as a symphonic
background. Amazing songwriting and flawless growling makes this album one of
the best death metal releases ever. What hopefully pleases fans of the band is
that they are definitely not becoming soft because this album is even heavier
and more aggressive than before. An additional bonus is lots of beautiful
melodies that probably makes even the mighty In Flames a bit jealous. The
production could not have been any better and this album is almost as close to
perfect as possible. Must be in every record collection. From the thousand
lakes they have risen to conquer the world and we have hopefully just seen the
very beginning of a band to count with for the first decade of the new
millennium.
