REVIEW: Clawfinger - Use your brain MVG Records, 1995
8/10
Clawfinger - Use your brain - cover art Another great album from the rap metal kings of Clawfinger, one of the best Swedish metal bands ever. The tracks are as usual rather short (3-4 minutes long) but in return they have lots of energy and are filled with great lyrics. Clawfinger has always been critisizing the sicknesses of modern society through their music and this recording is no exception. The songs deal with megalomania, political manipulation and lying, psychological and physical abuse, racism, drug abuse and so on. Clawfinger plays very aggressive metal with simple yet powerful melodies but their real strength is the well-written rhyming lyrics and great vocals, close to rap music. When you think about the number of people all over the world being killed because of their race, sexual preferences or personal opinions you have to admit that bands like Clawfinger are very important.
