In similarity with the other large metal labels, Nuclear Blast have found it extremely hard to sign new promising acts during the past five or so years. Therefore it was with great joy that I discovered their amazing 2005 debut "Conspiracy In Mind", a progressive masterpiece that sounded like nothing ever heard before, embracing elements from diverse bands such as Nevermore and Blind Guardian. I, and many others with me, have been eagerly awaiting the follow-up since then and now the time has come. "Waves Of Visual Decay" is the title of their second opus and although not quite as stellar as the debut, this disc has already received many spins in my stereo and it quickly became clear to me that they were no one-time wonder like Dream Evil (did I say that out loud?). The Norwegian metal scene is gathering its strength once again and Communic are definitely one of the forerunners at the moment. Passionate and powerful vocals, diverse song writing and memorable melodies will further establish the band as one of the most personal and unique metal bands of this decade. Excellent!
