REVIEW: Concept 7 - The Undeniable Constant Earthspike Productions, 2006
7.5/10
Concept 7 - The Undeniable Constant - cover art The influences are noticeable within Concept 7, but the band does not come across as an imitator. Concept 7 brings out Industrial sounds mixed with groove and techno beats. Instantly Static-X comes to mind while listening to “The Undeniable Constant”. Only because of the Industrial/techno mix. The vocals are clean, the guitars crunch, and the beats build to make quite an enjoyable listen. At times the influence of Godflesh resounds through, especially in the bass on the song “Tetrode”. For the most part Concept 7 deliver, but there are a few tracks on here that can get a little irritating by not knowing when to end the song. Mentioning the bands that I have the major difference between them and Concept 7 is that this music is no where near as dark. More of a pleasing energetic almost danceable feel is present on a good portion of the album. That can be good or bad, depending on the listener. But don’t let that cloud your judgement, because it’s heavy groove!! I like this album, and it’s a break from the death/grind that I usually listen to.
