Conspiracy A.D. is a very young Italian band who have nonetheless reached a mature level very quickly. "Humanity = Destruction..." is their first full-length album but certainly not their last. Blending elements from black, death and thrash metal this is a band that will be able to find many fans all over the world. The song structures are rather similar throughout the whole album with mid-paced thundering metal. Everything is put together in a very competent manner and it would have been a very pleasant experience if it hadn't been for one thing - these guys are no first class song writers. They are definitely good enough to complete an enjoyable recording, which is still what this is, but compared to the very professional production and visual art this is the area where they need to improve in the future. It is no doubt that these guys know how to handle their instruments but they still have some work to do before reaching the top. Like so many other bands they are followers, not leaders, but nevertheless this is a decent debut album which should be appreciated by fans of extreme metal in general, especially if you have an open mind and don't mind crossing genre borders.
