REVIEW: Construcdead - Repent Cold Records, 2002
7.5/10
Construcdead - Repent - cover art Helsingborg in the south of Sweden is slowly becoming a stronghold for technical death / thrash metal. Earlier on we have heard bands like Soilwork, Darkane and The Defaced have released some pretty energetic albums and now time has come for another band to reach a wider audience namely Construcdead. These bands are basically taking the old Gothenburg sound and turns it into a more aggressive, thicker kind of music that I and many with me have learned to enjoy. Construcdead is a very good band and their music is extremely technical but still brutal and full of the energy of a young band (they formed in 1999). The band also features Erik Thyselius who is also a member of Terror 2000 where also Darkane's Klas Ideberg can be found. As you realize all these Helsingborg bands are pretty much related to each other in one way or another. Construcdead is soon to reach the same high standard as Darkane so they had better watch out if they want to stay ahead of the tough competition these days. This is a very good release that the guys should be very proud of. No matter what you say this band will most certainly go far. "I've Come To Rule" is simply a beautiful song.

Editor's note: Construcdead are not from Helsingborg. They are from Stockholm but signed to the Helsingborg based label Cold Records.
