Contradiction is a new experience for me and many others but this unhidden jewel of German thrash metal has been an ongoing concern since way back in the very late 80s. Despite the lack of success they have struggled in the underground for a long time and this will to fight I truely appreciate, especially when they manage to compose an album as powerful and intense as "The Voice Of Hatred". Without forgetting about the glorious past of German thrash metal, Contradiction are not afraid to spice up their song writing with modern influences from the successful metalcore scene as well as the more technical Swedish death / thrash sound. On top of this you can add a slight touch of melancholy, particularly present in the beautiful lead melody of the title track. Frontman Oliver Lux definitely deserves a mention too, as he has a very powerful voice perfectly suited for this kind of music. This album is meant to be a punch in the face and that is exactly what it is. Contradiction is one of the most interesting "new" names in the thrash metal genre today, no doubt about that. Stand-out tracks: "Break The Oath", "Voice Of Hatred", "Hate Patrol".
