REVIEW: Cradle Of Filth - Dusk And Her Embrace Music For Nations, 1996
9.5/10
Cradle Of Filth - Dusk And Her Embrace - cover art Another fine release from the masters of Vampiric Gothic Metal. The usual complex orchestral arrangements mixing classical influences with fast and furious guitar melodies making the music as close to perfect as it possibly could get. Dani's highpitch screaming might be a bit annoying to some people but the music is great if you really start listening to it. Dani is also accompanied by great melodic female vocals from Sarah Jezebel Deva (who has also helped Therion and Covenant out) and Danielle Cneajna Cottington. Dani is above all a literary genious, writing all the lyrics himself influenced by the great names of Shakespeare, Bysshe Shelley and others. The lyrics are filled with complex gothic, dark and erotic poetry by a man who really takes his work seriously. This is absolutely one of the best albums by one of the best and most original metal bands of today.
