REVIEW: Cradle Of Filth - Vempire Or Dark Faerytales In Phallustein Cacophonous Records, 1996
10/10
Cradle Of Filth - Vempire Or Dark Faerytales In Phallustein - cover art Definitely one of the best albums ever made with COF's usual majestic orchestral arrangements, powerful and very fast guitar melodies together with the most extreme vocals on the metal scene today. The lyrics are extraordinary and written by the singer Dani Filth, a true poetical genius influenced by the great names of Nietzsche, Shakespeare, Bysshe Shelley, de Sade and so on. If you haven´t heard the band before you really should! Even if you don´t like it the first time you listen to it, it is really great music. I myself hated their music the first time I heard it, mostly because of Dani´s unearthly screaming, but now I must say it´s among my absolute favourites. This is without a doubt one of the best metal releases ever - the riffs are incredible, the music is majestic and powerful and the vocals rip through your ears, not to mention the wonderful lyrics as beautiful as ever.
