REVIEW: Criminal - Cancer Metal Blade Records, 2001
7.5/10
Criminal - Cancer - cover art When you mention South America and metal in one sentence most people will probably think of bands like Sepultura and Angra but South America is more than just Brazil. Followers of the underground may remember a band from Chile in the late 80's named Pentagram. The leader of the band - Anton Reisenegger - went on to form a new brutal death metal band called Criminal who is just about to release their new album simply entitled "Cancer" which is an aggressive and brutal and, of course, antichristian audial assault. If you are into more brutal death metal but would like to get away from the monotony of some bands like Cannibal Corpse and Deicide then this is something you would probably come to love. Criminal is ready to show the world that good music can be made even in a country like Chile. What surprised me the most about this release was the clear sound and the high quality of the production which was made entirely in Chile. Well done guys and keep rockin'!

Worth mentioning: the cd also contains four video tracks for those of you with a computer.
