The
diamond of Swedish black metal is back again but note that this MCD is not a
real new Dark Funeral album. This release with the controversial title that
would make millions of Americans see red is a tribute to some of the bands who
have helped to form the world of black metal such as Sodom and King Diamond.
The first track is a brand new song from the band but the other four are very
well performed cover versions of some great songs. If you ever wondered what
these songs would sound like if they were done by Dark Funeral this is your
chance to find out and I wouldn´t want to miss it if I were you. On a couple
of tracks Dee Moe adds a little extra to the songs with great backing vocals.
The hellish vocals from Emperor Magus Caligula is not to be forgotten either.
Dark Funeral made this MCD to honor the bands that have meant a lot to them
and this they have surely done. Powerful music performed by one of the most
powerful Swedish bands. I´m not a huge fan of all black metal but you have to
be a fool not to enjoy this one! In addition to the five audio tracks there is
also an MPEG live video for "An Apprentice Of Satan" that can be viewed on
your computer. The album was recorded and mixed at Abyss Studio by Dark
Funeral and Tommy Tägtgren, one of the famous
brothers.
