The satanic war machine Dark Funeral is keeping on rolling over this frozen landscape and spreads evil and terror. With this album they have done it again! There is a combination of brutal riffs and melodies with classical themes and all this a satanic symphony that have appeared outside the gates of hell. "My Dark Desire" is my favourite one on this evil creation that guides us through every spot of hell's fire and purgatory. Equimanthorn does a great job behind the drums on this album.
Besides my favourite song there is a very good combination with the songs, none is more boring than the other,
apart from "Satanic Blood" that is a bit tedious with its one and only riff through the entire song but after all it's a cover by "Von" so that is nice to hear anyway. I have also heard that this is Dark Funeral's first full-length release [yes it is but they released their self-titled mini debut in 1994; editor's comment], and with this in our hand and seeing the future releases, this album was only a good taste of what sould come! And it's also produced by Dark Funeral & Peter Tägtgren, that says it all I think.
This is a a classic album not to be missed! Always remember: "Lightning strikes the realm of light, Angels burn in flames of fire, Storms from hell embrace the skies, As blackwinged hordes arrive, Infernal winds, Come forth from the abyss, Satan rides the winds of wrath, Across the blackened sky".
