Anyone who knows their Gothenburg history (metallically speaking of course) don’t need to be reminded that this is the EP which first brought some serious attention to Dark Tranquillity. A lightning-storm of melodies ensnare the listener while drumbeats pound earthquakes in the distance, pummeling you beautifully for about 12 minutes of extremely skilled melodic metal. The 4th track on the EP is all techno, and really terrible techno at that. I have no idea why it’s on there, but it’s really quite jarring and, to be honest, in poor taste. Enter Suicidal Angels is a great EP otherwise, and a great induction for newbies to some true legends in the Gothenburg field.
