REVIEW: Delirium X Tremens - CyberHuman Self-financed, 2003
7.5/10
Delirium X Tremens - CyberHuman - cover art From the start of “1000 Wolves” a vicious sound emanates through the speakers. At first I was hoping for a brutal blast of speed, but that doesn’t really form. Influences that shine through are more of a traditional death metal style, with melodic leads that fight along a thrashing pace of beats. They mention that Swedish and Florida styled death metal is their main influence, and I think that’s pretty accurate. The melodic “Delirium 9991” makes me think of At the Gates, while still sounding different. It’s also a cool interlude before “…Inside Me” thrashes along. It’s hard for a band to really stand out from the rest these days, and Delirium X Tremens don’t accomplish it either, but at least they have a true sound that they have crafted, and not just another rip off band. I’d play this over a lot of the shit that is released from Earache and other prominent labels these days. Metal is about music, and you need to feel its power. That is something that Delirium X Tremens have done here. I’ll be interested in hearing a full-length recording from them.
