REVIEW: Demon Realm - A Legend Of Power Blazing Productions, 2004
6/10
Demon Realm - A Legend Of Power - cover art Hateful, primitive, raw, barbaric, harsh and cold are some appropriate words that could be used when describing the official debut album from the Danish band Demon Realm. They started out back in 1997 and now the Dutch label Blazing Productions have finally embraced them with their black wings. This is not black metal for anyone. It is only for those of you who like it bloody and without mercy. It is music for a warrior soul, vicious and with the cutting power of a sharp sword. The blade has been raised and the victim is you. Demon Realm have not set out to please anyone, instead they're image is the complete opposite of that. According to their own bio their "first full length is being forced into existence for your displeasure...". There you have it in a nutshell. Those of you who have not hidden behind your furniture and started looking out the window with worried eyes gazing for movement in the shadows of the night might be interested to check out this album. That is if raw, underproduced black metal done in the true Darkthrone tradition is your thing. Demon Realm have produced a decent first album that neither stands out from the competition nor will it disappoint you. The vocalist sounded kind of annoying at first but eventually you will probably get used to him. At least I did.
