REVIEW: Demonicon - Condemned Creation Root Of All Evil Records, 2001
6/10
Demonicon - Condemned Creation - cover art Demonicon released one album under the name Dominion but now they have returned with a new name and a new album. The music hasn't changed though and if you enjoyed the progressive death/grind of their first album I don't think you will be disappointed when listening to the follow-up either. This album also features the first appearance of two new band members - another guitarist and the brand new drummer Umbruskus (Theatre Of The Macabre). Unfortunately the music is a little too chaotic and monotonous to be a real killer and I would have liked to see more of the nice heavy riffing that can be heard on and off on the album. The vocals are very powerful but both them and the spoken interludes could and should have been made better. One of the things I like about the album is that it is very intense and energetic. I think however that it could have been made even more intense though if the production had been of higher quality. The sound is not that disturbing but I think the album would appeal more to me if it had been cleaner and less noisy.
