REVIEW: Desaster - Divine Blasphemies Iron Pegasus Records, 2002
8/10
Desaster - Divine Blasphemies - cover art Lates material from German extreme Black Thrashers. In difference to previous Desaster albums I really like this one. I know they already had a following in underground before Divine Blasphemies but this album sounds like they progressed a lot. Mature sound with good riffs, well combined together and well arranged with drums and vocals make almost a dozen of true headbanging hymns. Tension is on and high all the time! Throughout the album music is either thrash/black to go nuts, or epic styled to make you chill. While listening, I really feel like 80s are relieved, I just need a dozen of greasy metalheads in blue jeans and covered with stitches for a complete enjoying. Curiosity of his album is guest appearance of Kreator’s Mille Petroza on Nighthawk song. The beginning is rather naive, but after initial chords: beware thrash mayhem! Production is done on high level on entire album. Recording studio was Toxomusic. Album cover is nothing special, it is too simple and awakes no feelings. The best part of it is no doubtly band photo at the end. You can just look at them, don’t need to listen music, to see what Desaster is all about! Total beer, metal and stitches mayhem. Definitely very good release.
