The Singapore based band Deviant has been active since 1998 but has never released anything until recently. Numerous line-up changes have caused the band some problems but the band still managed to record the EP “What We Bring Forth”. This self released EP contains music that the band themselves like to describe as a fusion between elements of modern metal and melodies; I would on the other hand like to describe that as total rubbish. This is yet another boring metalcore band that lacks talent when it comes to song writing, vocal performance and the ability to catch the listener with the recording. Perhaps they are good live band, but they fail to transmit any energy and aggression to the listener of the record and that makes it tiresome and boring. If this is a preview of what a full-length would sound like then I am going to avoid this band if they ever release an album.
