REVIEW: Dirty Shirt - Different Self-financed, 2004
3/10
Dirty Shirt - Different - cover art Although Dirty Shirt have in common 4 members of the Rhetorica, they play a complete different style of music, a mixture of techno, electro, industrial and metal. The final result is absolutely horrible. All they manage is make our ears suffer !!! If I hadn't listened to the amazing Rhetorica's "Ganduri" I would have thought that these people have a little relation to music! Maybe their music would fit better as a soundtrack of a computer game or to an electro party but definitely not to ears of an average Metal fan. The title "Different" is deceptive because the compositions sound common and boring. The slow rock "Loneliness" seems to be differ a bit but soon becomes flat and boring. "Rise" has also the presuppositions to be a sympathetic song especially after the first minute nice change of polyphonic vocals but the rhythm afterwards lands the song to boredom. The Romanian children's song "Noapte Buna" could easily omitted, since offers nothing, if however the band is emotionally bound we can say nothing. The best moment of the demo is the clip version of the folk song "UB". I haven't heard the original song hence this industrial version seems interesting. In a few words I would reservedly recommend Dirty Shirt only to industrial alternative (and so on) metal fans. The rest should check Rhetorica.
