REVIEW: Dispatched - Terrorizer Crash Music Inc., 2005
5/10
Dispatched - Terrorizer - cover art Dispatched is a Swedish melodic death metal band with a somewhat unusual history. They began as early as 1991 and recorded a row of demos and EPs before signing with the well-known Music For Nations label for their debut album "Motherwar" in 2000. They ended up with the resurrected Finnish label Rising Realm who have now partnered with Crash Music Inc. to improve their distribution. This follow-up album was recorded at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg together with In Flames front man Anders Fridén who added his production skills to the final outcome. The result is a powerful sounding album. Musically Dispatched has very little to add to the world of metal except for standard At The Gates riffs and a few strange keyboard touches that mostly seem out of place. The only thing that is not standard material on this album is the vocalist Fredrik Karlsson who is doing a very good job trying to lift it slightly higher. Not good, not bad but the stereotype of Swedish melodic death metal.
