REVIEW: Dodecameron - Kalikantzaros Wrath Self-financed, 2002
7/10
Dodecameron - Kalikantzaros Wrath - cover art Fast, lo-fi, pissed off black metal with corpsepaint and esoteric mythology. Sound familiar? It is these days, and if you've had enough, you might want to steer clear of these 6 men. If that describes your perfect vision of metal, then climb aboard for another trip on the familiar path of blasting, screaming and sliding guitars. The bass drums of Dopplesgauger need to come up in the mix a little, as the lack of rhythmic markers often makes this CD hard to follow and thus sound sloppy. On strings, Mundus(leads), Neteru(rhythm) and Maelstrom(bass) hit their high point on "The Twelve Eyes of Darkness" with catchy yet grim riffs. There's not a lot else that can be said based on the CD as the information presented is minimal and concise. Let the music do the talking.
