A
great recording by the progressive metal band Dream Theater, featuring one of
the best songs ever made - the 23 minute opus "Change of Seasons". 23
minutes might seem as too much for one song but I can tell you that this one
is simply amazing. It has everything - slow emotional passages, fast technical
guitar riffs and beautiful vocals as we´re used to when hearing James LaBrie.
The rest of this recording is unfortunately covers of Elton John, Queen and so
on, music that I don´t really like that much... There is one more good song on
this album - the cover of Deep Purple's "Perfect Strangers", also one of
the best songs ever made (Dream Theater's version sounds much better than the
original). Even with only two good songs and the fact that it was probably
released for a purely commercial purpose this is a record worth buying, at
least if you like progressive music.
