REVIEW: Dream Theater - Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence Elektra Records, 2002
10/10
Dream Theater - Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence - cover art When I listened to the last album from Dream Theater I thought to myself that there was no way they were ever going to be able to top that release because it was simply perfect. I don't know what to think about this band because now they have composed almost 100 minutes of amazing progressive metal once again. While the previous "Metropolis" album contained several songs of mainstream nature this album shows Dream Theater at their most playful and complex with wonderful riffs and the most amazing technical songs. Another thing that makes this band so special and one of the best metal bands on this planet is the Canadian vocalist James LaBrie who has a very beautiful voice. Without him Dream Theater would be a band without that little extra which puts them ahead of every other band in this field that I've had the pleasure of enjoying so far. This is one of the most ambitious and musically advanced albums that have ever appeared on the metal scene and there is no way you should miss out on this release. They are still heavy, they are still around and they are still some of the finest musicians you can find.
