still unbroken." And so begins one of the most incredible works of metal art ever recorded. Edge Of Sanity's Crimson, an über-classic, masterpiece of a track, which clocks in at a hefty 40 minutes and never once shirks on the quality. This is quite possibly the best metal album I have EVER heard, and you can quote me on that. Weaving a majestic and stately spell on the listener from the get-go, the masterfully structured "Crimson", a veritable metal opera that tells the story of a dark, alien society and its struggle with an evil queen and morbid energies, presents riff after sweet sweet riff, lovely acoustic passages, heavy ominous ones and a few experimentational bits to round it all off. Some sections repeat throughout the album, striking Crimson through with recognisable motifs between the unique, singularly-occurring passages, giving it clarity and cohesion. You just aren't going to hear a more complete album anywhere else. Every part of this 40 minute juggernaut is neccesary and perfect, every vocal line is delivered with exceptional growly and cleanly sung skill from Dan Swanö, and the lyrical content is gold. When Edge Of Sanity recorded this album they were laying down a piece of metal history, and I whole-heartedly recommend this metal-masterpiece to every living soul. The story will enrapture you, the music will awe you, and the album will soon own your soul! I just love it that damn much. I can't say enough good things about it, so maybe I should just stop typing and assume you either already own it or are soon going to acquire it.
