REVIEW: Edge Of Sanity - Infernal Black Mark Production, 1997
8/10
Edge Of Sanity - Infernal - cover art This album is a great album from the boys in Edge Of Sanity, this feels a little like it´s a goodbye from Dan. The songs feel like they were made separately and not together like a red thread. Helter shelter is nice because of the vocals by Dread and that´s not the only song where he borrows the microphone from Dan and he does it with all pride left. I have a few favorite songs on this album such as 15:36 because of the mix with the clean and growling vocals and of course the lyrics. "Damned (By The Damned)", "Forever Together Forever", "Losing Myself" are also good. When I think of it all the songs have their little charm, hasn´t it always been so with Edge? Let´s go back to "Losing Myself". This song is the most funny in a way because it sounds just like a song that a boy band could have done. Maybe that was their secret dream? I´m saying that just because on ”Evolution” they have a cover on ”I Wanna Go Home” and that sounds definitely like something a boy band could have done. But back to this album now. The last song is a calm song and the lyrics are about not beeing able to write, and all I have to say is: Dan, you can! I´m fucking jealous of you. But isn´t it strange, I have felt that Edge Of Sanity always has been about Dan. Why? Ok, I mean he has his recording studio and his multiability for instrument and vocals, but aren´t there some limits? After all they are a whole band! But nothing bad about Edge or Dan now, they are doing good work! And to all of you who haven't got this album in your collection, buy it! And the next time you go to sleep, keep this in your mind: ”I am the one who will leave you behind, when I have used all of your mind, I am your incarnated fear, I have no soul, I am cold in my heart, I will always haunt you down, When you're dead you'll dream of me”. Sweet dreams dear reader, sweet dreams.
