REVIEW: Elusive - Dimension Zero Pandaimonium Records, 2001
7/10
Elusive - Dimension Zero - cover art Elusive was formed in 1996 by Tommy Olsson (ex-Theatre Of Tragedy), Jan K. Barkved and Morten Veland (ex-Tristania, Sirenia) as a spare-time project. It was soon clear to them that Elusive was to become more than a mere project band and now they have finished the work on their debut album to be released on the German label Pandaimonium Records who has brought us such great acts as Clean Of Xymox and Sophya. The Elusive sound is pretty far from the other bands of these men and it doesn't really have anything to do with metal. This is pure rock music suited for fans of David Bowie and Pink Floyd. The influences from these old legendary bands are pretty obvious but there is a much more modern feeling about this album which makes it sound fresh and new. If you are into gothic rock this is an album worth checking out and if you are not then this could be your chance to get to know a new side of modern day rock music. The music itself is very melodic but the most impressive thing about this album is the very passionate vocals. "Lonely Satellite" and "Gemini" in particular are two great songs.
