REVIEW: Elysium - Eclipse Metal Mind Records, 2001
6.5/10
Elysium - Eclipse - cover art Elysium is a band that somewhat already has been introduced to the European audience via their album "Dreamlands" that got their name spread via some good reviews. They're back here now with "Eclipse", a melodic death metal album that probably won't be able to make alot of people totally speechless with impressment, but that anyway keep a standard of good songcreations and what melodies are concerned. The album can remind a little of the early works of Dark Tranquility, being well played, and keep all the time the lead guitars in front of the music. They do however also do some electronic parts in the in and outro that might become a little too long (the intro alone lasts almost 6 minutes), but keeping the perspective of what's between, this is a good and wellplayed album. I'd wish for some more innovation, but it's a well worth album, especially when their "Dreamlands" album is added as a bonus, so you get 2 CD's!
