REVIEW: Eminenz - The Blackest Dimension Last Episode Productions, 2000
6/10
Eminenz - The Blackest Dimension - cover art The German black metal cult act Eminenz is back to conquer the world (or perhaps the underworld?) with their fourth full-length album since the band was first formed back in 1989. Eleven years has passed but Eminenz show no signs of exhaustion. Brutal, black and back to fight the light they are for sure. Even though the band takes the advantage of using symphonic keyboards for an extra touch they are not making an effort to become a band like Dimmu Borgir that relies extremely much on their keyboards. Their use of keyboards is more of the supportive kind in order to interact with the guitars or releave some tension from the most intense passages. One thing that is important to emphasize is that despite the fact that the Eminenz sound is often fast and furious it is also melodic. This is not a bad album at all but Eminenz can not be included in the black metal elite. They are however in the upper part of the second division and if you are very much into black metal this could be something for you to check out but if so you might already know of the band.
