REVIEW: Empire - Hypnotica Lion Music, 2001
7/10
Empire - Hypnotica - cover art This is a super group (www.empire-rock.com) that feautures musicians Lance King on vocals / Mark Boals - vocals / Rolf Munkes - guitars / Gerald Kloss - drums, Anders Johansson - Drums, Neil Murray on bass and the legendary Don Airey on keyboards who has recently hooked up with Deep Purple on a full time basis. I am happy to say that all the musicians involved have taken this project seriously and contributed to the best of their abilities. In the case of Lance King I have to say that he probably sounds even better with Empire than with Balance of Power. Especially his performance in "Into the Light" is absolutely amazing. This song is a total killer in my opinion -not just because of the vocal delivery- and one that every fan of Hard Rock and Metal should have. Make sure that you check this song out and that you add it in your collection a.s.a.p. Surely not every song in this album is great, but I do recommend this 44 minute / 12 song album to the fans of -very melodic- Hard Rock and Metal. Buy it from Lion Music, Stromsangsvagen 110, 22 411 Godby, Aland, Finland.
